Program Description: This program encourages an increased awareness of the rich and diverse natural history of the Northern California coast. Students are exposed to the amazing world of life in a tide pool in and learn about the special designs and biology of marine mammals. Students also study marine algae and redwood forest ecology.

Program Description: Students investigate a number of modules designed to help them become aware of Earth's structure, California's geology, and Sierra Nevada natural history. Special emphasis is given to the rock cycle as students study the forces that shape the Earth. Students also learn about the living organisms that inhabit the Sierras including birds of prey, mammals, and aquatic invertebrates. MORE INFORMATION |

Program Description: This program focuses on the natural history and ecology of the Central California coast and scientific research. Students study the unique ecology of Elkhorn Slough and the breeding elephant seal colony at Año Nuevo State Park. The life history of the Monarch butterfly is studied and the nature of scientific research is investigated at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center. |

Program Description: Currently, one of the most popular programs, “Can You Dig It?” focuses attention to the unique geology, ecology and paleontology of the Great Basin. Students view and in some cases collect fossils at several areas. Students study the complex geology and interesting ecology of the Great Basin. Visits to Pyramid and Mono Lakes introduce a discussion of special concerns and precarious ecology. |

| DELTA EXPLORATIONS Grade levels: 7-10 Location: Central Valley, CA |

Program Description: Students explore California’s unique delta ecosystem in this program and investigate the politics and ecology of California’s water battle. Focus is given to the interrelationship of the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta ecosystem and the resident and migrating species of fish and waterfowl. Students also learn to identify bird species using field identification guides. |

Program Description: Students investigate several topics related to the study of applied physical science. A number of activities increase student understanding of force, motion and energy, and provide opportunities for problem solving by building models and testing hypotheses. |

Program Description: This high-school level program focuses on the many diverse coastal and marine environments of the Northern California coast. Students learn the classification and the ecology of marine invertebrates as well as study the geological processes that have shaped the northern coast of California. Students investigate aquatic and forest ecology as they survey coastal streams and use simple classification keys to identify local flora and fauna. |

Program Description: This high-school level program looks at the natural history and ecology of the Sierra Nevada’s diverse ecosystems. Students investigate alpine plant and animal adaptations and consider public attitudes towards wildlife and management. Impacts of forest fires, natural history of aquatic insects and wildflower identification are also studied. |

Program Description: This program focuses on the geology and ecology of California with a special emphasis on the southern San Joaquin Valley and surrounding mountain ranges.
